Sometimes I ask myself, “Does it get any better than Old Navy when it comes to getting today’s trends at the perfect price?” With Old Navy’s newest arrivals on sale for at least 20 to 40 percent off original prices for the past couple of weeks, my fall shopping list – boyfriend jeans, boho blouses, swing dresses and coats – is being successfully fulfilled.

It is impossible not to love going junkin’ growing up in my family. My taste is a mix of shabby meets primitive with a side of rust. I have been receiving questions as to how I decorate and where I find my pieces, so I figured I would answer a few here.
Where do you find your junk? I find most of my pieces – fondly referred to as junk – everywhere, including antique fairs, antique stores, flea markets and our local treasure, Sisters Too. My mom and Grams also pass stuff to me when they are ready for something else (love when this happens). I am that girl who spots chairs and old wooden ladders on the side of the road and grabs them. I also love mixing old and new pieces.
How long did it take you to collect all of your pieces? I started at a young age. The process of collecting for your home with shabby and prim pieces consists of more than visiting a store or two. My compilation has taken me about 15 years of junkin’, but that is the thrill of it. I prefer waiting to find the perfect piece that I have been searching for instead of simply buying random pieces just to fill a space. Take your time – you cannot rush it.
Where do you find your inspiration? I grew up in a family of junkers, so I tend to look to their style. There are also fantastic ideas on Pinterest and Instagram. I love seeing what fellow junkers are doing with their spaces! A few hashtags I use to find inspiration include #shabbychic, #shabbyhome and #farmhousestyle.
Here are a few pieces I found this summer:
Perfectly chippy shabby rocking chair
Green chippy coffee table
Hey y’all pillow: Hobby Lobby // Orange and tan pillow: Target
Chippy white and green shutters
I am currently painting the table in the background a very light pink. Next step: Distress!
Did you spot the first piece of Halloween decor in the living room? I can hardly stand not putting a few pumpkins out! I will officially decorate for fall next weekend! Be on the lookout for pumpkins galore.
Orange and black battery powered candles: Michaels
I look forward to college football kickoff weekend every year. I love football, especially the SEC. Just two more weeks to go!
P.S. Go Gators!

An easy dress and booties make for one of my go-to outfits for the summer-to-fall transition period. This swing dress is an old favorite, and these fun – and super comfortable – suede booties bring it back to life.

This year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale brought many goodies, but these Lucky Brand booties were my favorite purchase. I have worn my go-to fall booties for the past two years (I still love them), and I wanted to add a new pair to the mix. These were it! They sold out quickly online, so when I visited my best friend in Jacksonville, I swung by Nordies. They were sadly sold out as well, so she sweetest sales girl offered to call around the country. There were FIVE pairs left in my size. FIVE. I did not even hesitate when she asked whether I would like to purchase them or not. If they come back in stock, grab them fast! Now this South Florida weather just needs to match my fall mood.
